We worked with the Bristol Old Vic over two and half years to devise, develop and manage the installation of a full heritage interpretation design to celebrate the theatre's 250 years in 2018. This was to coincide with the new front of house development by Haworth Tompkins architects. The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and included eight different installations by eight different artists and companies.

The Projects 

Aardman Animations collaborated with Limbic Cinema to produce a film projection-mapped to the interior wall. Limbic also worked with Zubr to produce an AR experience for iPads. Signwriter Hana Whaler hand painted a timeline of the theatre's history, and street artist Bex Glover sprayed and painted a history of the local area around King Street. Artist Emily Ketteringham created an artwork from copies of posters and playbills from the theatre's 250 years that spanned three lobbies of the auditorium. 2 Feet Below designed and installed an exhibition with us about audio in theatre that used conductive ink throughout to create interactive interfaces. Satzooma created an interactive portal for the theatre's archives, which was on a touchscreen embedded in a table made by Rick Howie. Rick also created bespoke exhibition display cases with lighting by Lucy Gaskell.
